Trainee Groundsperson

We have an exciting opportunity to join BAWA as part of our Grounds and Site Maintenance team.

**Responsibilities**:

- Undertaking routine grounds tasks in the preparation of sports pitches for both the winter and summer seasons involving tractor driving.
- Minor building maintenance including painting, minor plumbing works and general repairs using handheld power tools and machinery.
- Perform general groundskeeping duties to maintain the appearance and functionality of outdoor spaces
- Use power tools and hand tools to mow, trim, edge, and prune lawns and shrubs
- Remove debris and litter from outdoor areas to keep them clean and presentable
- Assist with snow removal during winter months
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a safe work environment
- Key holder responsibilities, opening up gates and premises

**Requirements**:

- Positive attitude and willing to learn
- Reliable & trustworthy
- Ability to operate power tools and hand tools safely and effectively
- Physical stamina to perform tasks that require bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods of time
- Strong attention to detail to ensure the proper care of outdoor spaces
- Able to work well as part of a team as well as independently
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently

Weekend work [every other weekend] will be required.

39 hours per week

- Bristol: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
