Your new role

National Highways have an exciting new opportunity for a Property Acquisition Case Manager role within the National Highways Property and Compensation division on a 9 month fixed term contract basis. The role is based at the Manchester office but there isflexibility to work from home as circumstances dictate.

This role within the Property Acquisition Team supports the team’s work in ensuring that the land and rights required for the scheme are acquired and that related costs are paid promptly and appropriately in accordance with legislation, policy, and the compensationcode.
What you’ll be leading on

- Liaise with the company’s legal and valuation suppliers to acquire land and rights that are needed to improve or maintain the Network.
- Accurately maintain the company’s property records, and financial and other administrative records, using the company’s systems; to comply with statutory and internal procedures, and inform effective decision-making.
- Manage work to meet objectives, ensuring that the relevant law, policies, and procedures are followed.
- Liaise with colleagues and customers, building effective relationships to ensure that claimants and affected landowners receive good customer service.
- Collate and analyse relevant information to inform effective decision making
To be successful you’ll need
- Able to demonstrate a good understanding of processes and compliance with governance standards.
- Able to demonstrate collaboration with others, and suppliers, if possible, to achieve joint goals.
- A strong communicator, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate at all levels and conduct difficult conversations when necessary.
- Experienced in managing your own caseload from start to finish, with strong attention to detail.
- Process-driven with the ability to effectively use all relevant ICT - Microsoft Office, and case management systems.
- Experience in property work is desirable but not essential.
