Senior Suveyor

We are seeking a highly driven and experienced Senior Surveyor to join our Bristol office, working on projects across the South West of England.

Our sectors of operation include residential, commercial, arts and leisure, education and healthcare - with residential developments being our primary area of operation.

We are looking for an individual who has the initiative to hit the ground running. The work pace is fast and understanding our objective to be 'the consultant of choice' is key to how we deliver an exceptional service.

**REQUIREMENTS**

The right individual will have:

- 3-5 years' experience in delivering the Employer's Agent role (Desirable)
- A quantity surveying, building surveying or project management background
- Confidence at client meetings
- Strong ambitions to develop their technical skills
- A team player approach and ability to work closely with clients and colleagues
- Commitment to the RICS and completing the APC, if not already achieved
- Good communication and workload management skills
- Excellent problem-solving abilities
- A methodical approach to tasks
- Experience in JCT contracts and Development Agreements (Desirable)
- Strong technical knowledge of construction
- A cost estimating background (Desirable)
- A full, clean driving licence (Desirable)

**JOB SUMMARY**

No two days will be the same for our Senior Surveyors, but your general responsibilities will include:

- Providing Employer's Agent and Contract Administration services across a variety of projects from inception to completion
- Providing pre-contract services, including chairing design team meetings and managing the pre-construction phase
- Preparing, regulating, and analysing costs for tenders and contracts
- Experience in various forms of procurement and contracts to be able to advise clients
- Undertaking risk assessments
- Assessing value for money
- Administering JCT construction contracts and development agreements, including chairing meetings
- Valuing work completed on-site and certifying payments
- Assessing cost variations
- Preparing cost reports and cash flows
- Preparing and agreeing final accounts
- Assessing and agreeing extension of time and loss and expense claims
- Mentoring our Assistant Surveyors in delivering our scope of services and achieving their own professional career goals
