Cashier

Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Cashier to join our team at Dunston Service Station. As a Cashier, you will be the first point of contact for our customers, providing exceptional service and ensuring a positive shopping experience.

**Duties**:

- Operate cash register and handle cash transactions with customers accurately and efficiently
- Scan goods and collect payments
- Issue receipts, refunds, change or tickets
- Resolve customer complaints, guide them and provide relevant information
- Greet customers when entering or leaving the store
- Maintain clean and tidy checkout areas
- Keep reports of transactions

**Requirements**:

- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with customers
- Basic math skills to handle transactions quickly and accurately
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently

Nice-to-have Skills:

- Multilingual abilities including proficiency in English and Spanish
- Upselling skills to promote products or services
- Phone etiquette for professional customer interactions

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: £11.44 per hour

Expected hours: 18 per week

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Every weekend
- Holidays
- Overtime

**Education**:

- GCSE or equivalent (preferred)

**Experience**:

- Retail sales: 1 year (preferred)
- customer service: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Driving Licence (preferred)
