Nexus Mods is looking to bolster our ranks by recruiting an experienced Videographer to join our new Content Team. Your objective: crafting memorable video content to engage, inform and inspire our community of modders.
Reporting to our Content Manager, this position is based in our sunny offices in Exeter in the UK and you will need a right to work in the UK before you apply. As a business, we work a 4-day work week, with all staff on-site in our Exeter office.
**The Role**
As a Videographer, you are responsible for producing engaging video content that showcases the best of Nexus Mods, highlights new or trending mods, and supports our community initiatives. You will be the visual storyteller for Nexus Mods, producing high-quality videos that resonate with our audience and enhance our brand presence, whilst working with our teams to ensure content aligns with our brand and goals.
You will need to have your finger on the pulse of the Nexus modding community, the general gaming modding community, and the wider gaming industry to fully represent us in all those spheres. It'll be your job to ensure the Nexus Mods video content remains fresh, relevant, and engaging while continuing to grow our audience and effectively communicate with our existing community.
**Responsibilities**
- Video Production: Create high-quality video content, including tutorials, mod showcases, interviews, behind-the-scenes features, and promotional videos.
- Storytelling: Develop compelling narratives and storylines that engage our audience and convey the spirit of Nexus Mods.
- Technical Execution: Handle all aspects of video production, from filming and editing to post-production and final delivery.
- Content Strategy: Collaborate with the Content and Community teams to develop and execute a video content strategy and calendar that aligns with Nexus Mods' goals and community interests.
- Trend Monitoring: Stay updated with industry trends, competitor activities, and audience preferences to ensure content is relevant and innovative.
**Requirements**:
- This is an office-based position. You need a right to work in the UK and a willingness to relocate to Exeter as soon as possible. We cannot provide visas.
- Proven experience as a Videographer or in a similar role, with a strong portfolio of previous work (please include at least 3 examples).
- Proficiency with video production equipment and software (e.g., cameras, lighting, Adobe Premiere Pro / After Effects).
- Strong storytelling abilities and a keen eye for visual aesthetics.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written (English), with the ability to convey ideas clearly and effectively.
- Understanding of best practices for video content.
- High attention to detail in all aspects of video production and editing.
- Ability to work independently, take ownership of projects, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines. Awareness of current trends in gaming, modding, and digital content to keep our video content fresh and relevant.
**Bonus Skills**
- An understanding of how Nexus Mods and modding works.
- A sense of humour, niche jokes and deep modding meme knowledge.
- A love of computer games, particularly those in our top 20.

**Salary**
Between £25,000 - £35,000, depending on your experience level.

- As a business we recently moved to a 4-day work week, working 32 hours each week with no reduction in salary.
- 25 days holiday a year, plus an additional holiday day after you have worked in the company for 1 year, 3 years, and 5 years. The 25 days of holiday is inclusive of 8 days of mandatory bank holidays.
