As a
** Learning Support Assistant**
**(LSA)** at one of our lovely primary schools located in East London, you will be responsible for providing support to children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), under the supervision of the class teacher and SENCO.

Your main duties will include:

- Assisting with the planning, delivery and evaluation of individualised learning activities for pupils with SEND, such as reading, writing, maths and social skills.
- Supporting pupils with personal care and physical needs, including toileting, feeding, and mobility.
- Monitoring and recording pupils' progress and behaviour, and reporting any concerns to the class teacher and SENCO.
- Providing emotional and behavioural support to pupils who may have challenging behaviours, and promoting positive attitudes towards learning and socialisation.
- Collaborating with the class teacher, SENCO and other professionals involved in the pupils' care, such as speech and language therapists, occupational therapists and educational psychologists.
- Maintaining a safe and stimulating learning environment, and ensuring that resources and equipment are used effectively and appropriately.
- Undertaking any other duties as required by the class teacher and school management.

Essential requirements:

- Experience of working with children with SEND, preferably in a school setting.
- Knowledge of different SEND conditions and strategies for supporting them.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
- Flexibility and adaptability, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good organisational and administrative skills, with the ability to manage time effectively and maintain accurate records.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of KS1 - KS2 children and young people.
