Tutor / Therapist (Autism)

Would you like to join an enthusiastic and creative team in ensuring a bright autistic 11 year old in reaching their full potential? We are currently recruiting 1 behavioural therapist/tutor (trainee) to work 1:1 with our 11 year old child in Swansea.

Our home programme aims to teach the skills in communication, social & functional living skills alongside a strong emphasis on academic principles and play. Our guiding principle is always what is important to the young person and that they are happy, relaxed and engaged. The programme follows the national curriculum as the aim of the programme is to support existing integration into mainstream school. The programme is well established and has resulted in huge progress. Full theoretical and practical support will be provided by an experienced Consultant (BCBA) along with on-going training and supervision. The programme is also supported by a Specialist Teacher and Occupational Therapist and Speech and Language Therapist and so would be an excellent opportunity to widen your knowledge and skill set in support children with additional needs.

The role is on a self employed basis. The rate of pay is £8.50+ to £15.00 per hour, depending on experience and current available sessions are:
Monday to Friday 1230 - 1530

Although this is a part time position, there are other families within Swansea whom choose to home educate their children under similar programmes. With your permission, I would circulate your CV to other parents in order to gain full time employment.

We have protocols in place in the family home to reduce risk as much as possible but this job will require close contact with the young person.
