**What will a day in the life of a casework coordinator entail?**
You will join our Destitution, Asylum Support and Protection Service (DASPS), who are part of our Wales Refugee Services and Restoring Family Links Team and the UK RSRFL Directorate.
You'll collaborate closely with the Project Coordinator, assisting with group activities and casework throughout Wales. As a part of the team, your mission will be to address the needs of asylum seekers, refugees, and vulnerable migrants. This involves connecting them to vital statutory and local support, such as destitution prevention, access to Asylum Support, and protection guidance. You'll also play a crucial role in supporting those with complex needs and uncertain immigration statuses.
**To be a successful casework coordinator you’ll need**:
- Organisational and time management skills - planning, managing, monitoring and prioritising workload
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with people whose first language is not English directly and through interpreters
- Ability to provide sensitive, safe, and empowering support to distressed people
- in vulnerable situations
- Ability to analyse complex information and make appropriate decisions about
- action and dissemination
- Ability to effectively advocate on behalf of clients to realise their rights and entitlements upholding a professional polite persistence
- Understanding of issues relating to asylum seekers, refugees and other vulnerable migrants
- Experience of delivering casework with vulnerable clients and cross-agency partnership working
