Senior Estimator

**My client, a fantastic main contractor within the Construction industry based in North London are currently seeking a Senior Estimator to join their team on a full time and permanent basis,specialising within the Groundworks area.**

Key responsibilities are below:
Your responsibilities will include the preparation and subsequent negotiation of tendersubmissions for groundworks, RC frame and infrastructure projects.

You will be required to:
Examine each incoming tender to gain a full understanding of the project, the requirements of said projects and the scope and the contractual requirements of the project.

Assess all elements of risk associated to the project, before deciding whether or not to submit a tender or register the companies interest in taking the project on board.

Identify anomalies or discrepancies within the tender documents and seek clarification.

Measure and take-off quantities from drawings.

Prepare rates for each item within the Bill of Quantities.

Propose value engineering possibilities.

Work with other members of our Commercial team and the Construction team to ensure that the target programme is achievable, and the works are resourced correctly.

Prepare a fully compliant tender submission (incorporating all necessary qualifications and exclusions) within the time limit set by the client.

Attend pre-tender and post-tender meetings with the client.

Obtain quotations from sub-contractors, negotiate rates and other terms of business.

Estimating experience in groundworks and RC frame projects (5 years or more).

CSCS.

Experienced in working to standard methods of measurement.

Experienced in using estimating software, preferably Conquest.

A good attention to detail.

A methodical approach to work.

Commercial awareness.

A skilled negotiator and communicator.

An analytical mind, adept at problem solving.

Excellent organisational and time management skills.

Full UK driving licence.
