**Job summary**

The PCN Business Support Officer will work with the PCN Clinical Director and PCN Manager in delivery of the PCN agenda for Durham West.

You will help support the coordination, actions and subsequent development work arising from PCN Board meetings, PCN PPG meetings, CCG Meetings and Local Authority AAP meetings, cascading information as needed. You will have excellent report writing and presentation skills and be able to summarise complex reports into briefing documents for quick reference.

You will support the recruitment, line management and development of ARRS staff including (but not limited to) Care Coordinators and Social Prescribers ensuring smooth operating systems and seamless communication between the PCN and General Practice members.

Supporting the development, set up and running of Framwellgate offices as the main base for the role along with co located ARRs staff who may work the offices and practice sites. You will deputise for the PCN Manager during absence ensuring office cover and help coordinate annual leave requests to ensure that the PCN can always deliver a good level of service to both practices and patients.

You will be an excellent organiser with knowledge of databases and different software platforms including social media platforms. Part of your role will include delivery of the PCN Social media plan in collaboration with patient representatives.

You will lead on the development of the Better Health at Work award across the PCN which will involve health campaigns that improve the health and wellbeing of both PCN and practice staff and which will also be relevant for patients.

You will support the development of an ongoing programme of evaluation for social prescribing interventions, ensuring that the PCN can evidence return on investment at all times. This will also involve monitoring the length of interventions to ensure dependence is not created amongst patients and that they are truly enabled to take responsibility for their own health. Measuring caseloads against baseline referral criteria set internally will support this.

You will support the development of business plans, a community database and PCN development sessions while monitoring performance indicators to review progress against national metrics and targets. You will work with the Clinical Director and PCN Manager to develop action and improvement plans where improved performance across a particular area may be required, thinking first about the use of ARRs staff in addressing these areas to further ease the burden on general practice.

This role will be critical to the ongoing growth and development of the PCN, including the innovative development of what will become a single point of access for patients and practice staff for ARRs referrals and an enhanced service offer for the area.

You will also support good communications between the PCN, practices and external stakeholders by taking responsibility for a Network newsletter highlighting the different roles of staff, activity in the PCN, service development updates and more.
