**About the role**:
As an ICT Apprentice, you will play a crucial role within Bates Wells. Working within the IT Service Desk team, you’ll be responsible for delivering first and second line support to their people. Bates Wells value hard work, effective time management, and the ability to work seamlessly as part of a team.

**Main Responsibilities**:
The role incorporates:
**Desktop Support**:

- Working with the Service Desk Team to handle the day-to-day user requests from the service desk system, ticketing, installations and upgrades. Examples include:

- Application support and installs.
- Hardware upgrades and troubleshooting.
- New hardware installations for desktops and laptops including asset management.
- User account creation and decommissioning.
- Resolving problems by remote control or visiting in person if required.
- Escalating calls where necessary to other IT colleagues or to external support as needed.

**Administration**:

- Setting up and maintenance of all user accounts on a variety of platforms.
- Following IT policies and procedures.
- Keeping various internal databases up to date.
- Ensuring asset register is up to date.
- Mobile phone device setup and updates.
- Liasing with contractors where appropriate.
- Checking in and out of IT deliveries (with support provided by facilities).

**PCs and Laptops**:

- New PC builds and rolling programme of upgrades.
- Enforcement of IT policies and procedures (e.g. removal of rogue software).
- Hardware installs / upgrades.

**Other**:

- Ad-hoc tasks ranging from website uploads to assisting the Service Desk Supervisor with deployment.

**Skills**:

- Exceptional interpersonal skills, demonstrating professionalism in all dealings.
- Ability to multi-task and keep calm under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Excellent attention to detail, good at trouble shooting.
- Ability to provide a customer-focused service.
- A self-starter able to work closely with other team members and demonstrate initiative, trust and loyalty, motivated to see projects through from start to finish.
- The flexibility to work outside normal office hours.

**Entry Requirements**:

- You’ll need to attend an online interview with our Talent Team and pass initial assessments in maths and English once you have completed your registration.
- You will need to be within a commutable distance to the office location listed.
