Delivery Driver & Workshop Cleaner

In this dual role at our Venture, you will play a vital part in ensuring the smooth operations of our delivery services and maintaining a pristine workshop environment. As a Delivery Driver, you'll be responsible for the safe transportation of engineering materials, while as a Workshop Cleaner, your focus will be on creating an organised and hygienic workspace.

**Delivery Driver Responsibilities**:
1. Vehicle Operation:

- Safely operate and maintain delivery vehicles, including vans, or other designated vehicles.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle's safety and report any issues promptly.
- Follow traffic rules and regulations to ensure safe and timely deliveries.

2. Loading and Unloading:

- Efficiently load and unload engineering materials, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage.
- Verify the accuracy of shipments against delivery documentation.

3. Route Planning:

- Plan and optimise delivery routes to maximise efficiency and minimise delays.
- Utilise GPS systems and other navigation tools to ensure on-time deliveries.

4. Customer Service:

- Provide excellent customer service by maintaining a professional and courteous demeanour.
- Communicate effectively with customers and addressing enquiries.

5. Documentation:

- Complete delivery logs, manifests, and other required paperwork accurately and promptly.
- Collect necessary signatures, if applicable.

6. Maintaining Delivery Records:

- Keep accurate records of mileage, fuel consumption, and other relevant information.
- Report any incidents, accidents, or vehicle issues to the appropriate parties.

**Workshop Cleaner Responsibilities**:
1. General Cleaning:

- Clean and maintain workshop areas, including floors, surfaces, and equipment.
- Ensure the proper disposal of waste and hazardous materials in accordance with engineering and environmental standards.

2. Organisational Tasks:

- Organise tools, equipment, and materials to maintain an efficient and productive workspace.
- Assist in inventory control by keeping track of cleaning and maintenance supplies relevant to engineering operations.

3. Safety Compliance:

- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while cleaning and organising workshop spaces.
- Report any safety hazards or maintenance issues to the appropriate personnel.

4. Collaboration:

- Work collaboratively with engineering staff to ensure a clean and safe working environment.
- Support other tasks and duties within the workshop, as needed.

**Qualifications**:

- GCSEs or equivalent educational qualification.
- Valid driver's licence with a clean driving record.
- Previous experience as a delivery driver preferred.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy engineering materials.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Familiarity with GPS devices and route optimisation tools.

**Physical Requirements**:
The job may require lifting, bending, and prolonged periods of sitting or standing. Delivery drivers must be physically capable of handling the demands of transporting engineering materials. The Workshop Cleaner role may involve physical activities related to cleaning and organising workshop spaces within the engineering context.

This dual role contributes significantly to the efficiency and professionalism of our engineering operations.
