**Your Role**
We are looking for a Finance Manager to undertake this challenging and diverse role. The role will involve provision of accounting support for the Defence and National Security (DNS) Business Unit. With the support of a wider team, the purpose of this roleis to provide project and contract accounting leadership to a key strategic contract portfolio within the Business Unit. The scope of the role covers end-to-end financial management of a large complex contract including month end close processes, forecasting,and ensuring maintenance of lifetime P&L, open book (customer requirements) and balance sheet integrity for this strategic contract.

**Your experience**
- Holds a Professional Accountancy Qualification - CIMA/ACCA or equivalent
- This role require effective management of finance processes of medium to complex programs and projects, including internal control and policy compliance, and to support management decision-making through provision of relevant business information and analysis.
- Have the ability to identify and manage financial risks and opportunities within the areas of responsibility
- Have strong interpersonal skills - able to communicate effectively and drive sound financial decisions including with customer stakeholders across all customer financial obligations on the account including attendance at meetings held with the customerwhere required
- Good organizational skills essential with ability to work to tight deadlines and possessing strong attention to detail
- IT Services or Contract Accounting experience desirable
- Security Clearance to minimum SC level would be required
**Key Responsibilities**
- Ownership of full project and contract financials including preparation and presentation of month end actuals to internal stakeholders - providing variance analysis and business commentary
- Ability to analyse and evaluate financial problems, accounting or control issues, drawing conclusions and making appropriate recommendations to support management decision-making
- Ability to Identify the most appropriate accounting treatment to adopt when there are contractual difficulties or commercial disputes
- To support and challenge the business to ensure that quarterly, Mid Term Plan and other forecasting information is gathered correctly and has integrity but is owned and understood by the business
- Ensure that external customer reporting and open book contractual obligations are met within the timescales and build strong working relationships with customer finance teams where applicable
- Development of 1 head aligned to this portfolio and provide regular feedback and updates to help assist improvement of performance of all team members with a focus on supporting individual's training and development goals.
