An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a new team being formed as part of the Regional Economic Crime Unit within EMSOU.

The SARS investigation team will be proactive in nature focusing on fraud and money laundering offences identified from intelligence development. As part of a team including Intelligence Officers, Researchers, Analysts, Financial Investigators and a Forensic Accountant you will develop packages identified from intelligence research and undertake investigations from cradle to grave ensuring criminal assets are identified and offenders are prosecuted.

The team work with a modern hybrid approach with a mix of home and office working with office locations spread across the east midlands region.

**Key Accountabilities**
- To manage and investigate economic crime offences, interview victims of crime and plan effective search strategies in support of current investigations covering, people, premises, vehicles and land.
- Complete thorough risk assessments for operational events, ensuring adequate control measures are in place and that an appropriate contingency plan is developed.
- To coordinate the examination, preservation and continuity of evidence and exhibits recovered during an investigation in accordance with procedure. To be part of forensic strategy meetings and complete MG21 Forensic submission forms as required.

**The must haves**
- You must be either educated to Degree level standard or equivalent or demonstrate equivalent relevant work in complex criminal investigation.
- You must be PIP 2 accredited, or equivalent with recent experience of working in an investigative role (last 3 years) to maintain status.
- Demonstrate a broad understanding of legislation and procedure associated with the investigation of crime i.e. RIPA, PACE, CPIA, POCA.

- For part time hours the salary will be calculated on a pro-rata basis, this is based on the number of hours for the vacancy.
- This is a full-time, permanent role. **Salary: SO2 (£34,287 - £36,171)**:
