Senior Toolmaker

**Option to work a four-day week, every Friday off Extensive overtime available (if wanted) paid at time and a half**

**Senior toolmaker required by an established company that can trace its roots back to the 1800s. They are specialists in their field working across multiple industries and are a family-run business that offers stable and secure employment.**

You will play a pivotal role in acting as the link between the design team and the mould shop ensuring that you understand and can interpret engineering drawings and developing one-off mould tools for use in the manufacturing areas. Due to the varied natureof the company's customer base, the role offers a very varied workload.

The working hours will be based on days Monday-Thursday/Friday (40-hour week) with flexibility around start and finish times, including the option to work 4 x 10-hour days Monday to Thursday and have every Friday off

**As the senior toolmaker your duties will include**:

- Mentoring a toolmaker
- Setting and programming of CNC machines, including 3 Axis Mill and Lathe
- The operation of other tool room equipment including mills, lathes, and ancillary equipment
- Production of mould tooling and other equipment, including the development of prototype mould tools
- Hands-on engineering of development mould tools and testing first-offs for process and product optimisation
- Assisting in the diagnosis of non-conforming products or process optimization, and carrying out rectifications or modifications to tooling as and when required
- Helping with other machining requirements such as assisting the maintenance and production teams.
- A time served apprenticeship in a relevant discipline,
- Experience in both manual and CNC machining
- Extensive experience in Mazatrol, XYZ or Fusion is required to obtain the higher end of the salary range i.e., £34K or higher

**In return, the senior toolmaker will receive a salary of £33,000-£35,000 (dependent on experience) + £50 per month fuel allowance (to assist with commuting costs), pension, and 24 holidays plus bank holidays. Extensive overtime is available, paidat time and a half.**
