We are currently seeking a motivated, disciplined and enthusiastic individual to join the team at our fuel storage and distribution terminal near Southampton, Hampshire. The site is one of 5 Esso Fuel terminals across the UK, supplied by dedicated pipelines from Fawley Refinery. We deliver petrol and diesel to fuel stations in most of the south of England as well as supply industrial users with regular & Marine Gas Oil.

You will be part of the shift team ensuring the safe and reliable operation of the terminal, 24/7. We are looking for someone who will take pride in their work, ensure tasks are completed to high industry standards while identifying opportunities to make improvements.

To be eligible for this role, you must have:

- A good general education to at least GCSE level. GCSEs should be of grades A-C and must include English Language and Maths

It is a condition of your continuing employment that your main residence is located within 45 minutes travelling distance from the place of work

**What role would you play within our team.**:
You will be responsible for the daily operations of the fuel storage and distribution terminal. This includes:

- Maintaining high standards of safety within the team and with those working on site
- Ensuring that the equipment is operated to high standards by all users
- Managing & Maintaining terminal product stock levels (Pipeline Operation)
- Communicating with the Supply and Pipeline team to ensure we are able to continue to meet customer product demands
- Assisting customers with loading issues
- Working with the site Maintainers and Operations Technicians
- Reporting broken equipment and recording root causes to enable improvements in reliability
- Logging incidents in detail to enable reports to be shared
- Assisting with security issues and ensuring a high standard of surveillance is maintained
- Following emergency response procedures and completing practice drills to improve effectiveness
- Operating the equipment within defined operating parameters, highlighting any issues

**Who are we looking for.**:

- Experience working within an environment with a high focus on safety standards
- Ability to work well as part of a team with particular capability to communicate information as part of a handover
- Ability to work effectively in a busy environment and prioritise tasks.
- Capability to follow procedures and standards rigorously
- Initiative and judgement to identify problems and use available resources to solve them.
- Capability with standard desktop systems and ability to learn new systems.
- Positive, flexible attitude to training and taking on new skills.
- Mechanical or electrical trade skills is an advantage
