**MS294 - Junior Survey Engineer**
**Location**: Bordon, Hants

**Overview: **First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Junior Surveyor Engineer on behalf of one of our clients.
The Junior Survey Engineer is responsible for the electronic, electrical, and mechanical equipment used for the acquisition of geophysical, hydrographic, meteorological and oceanographic data.
**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- To work with the technical department to plan and prepare the daily work schedule
- Preparation of equipment for pre-survey mobilisation, to include setting up the survey suite in the workshop and testing its operation
- Packing survey equipment ready for transportation to site, this to include, packing notes for all containers, including serial numbers and descriptions
- Mobilising the equipment on site and assisting in the acquisition of data, de-mobilising the equipment at end of survey
- Carry out maintenance and repair of survey equipment on site
- On return from site, ensure that all equipment is checked, labelled and returned to the stores in accordance with the workshop procedures
- Maintenance of survey equipment, including installing software/firmware updates, calibration and specific tooling
- Assist with training of new personnel
- Provide ideas and information on future equipment purchases
- Keep the workshop and stores clean and tidy
- Adhere to company health and safety and QA Management Systems and Policies
- Commitment to safe working practices
- Additional duties that the company may reasonably require

**Skills and Qualifications**:

- Minimum HNC in Electronics (or equivalent)
- Knowledge of computer IT including networking. Fault finding to component level. Knowledge of the use of test equipment and techniques
- Experience in soldering, testing and assembling electronic systems
- Ability to work as part of a team, a good communicator with excellent organisational skills. Interest in hands on work and willing to learn new skills
- Travelling and working on site on vessels will be required including over weekends and for extended periods 4+ weeks
- You will need to have 3+ years of vessel mobilisation, data acquisition and processing or engineering experience, with a proven record of delivering high quality data on time.
- A full driving licence is required
