Crane Supervisor - Oxford

Due to continued growth within Select Plant Logistics Team we are looking to add a Crane Supervisor to our team supporting projects within the Oxford Area. This role will work with the project, site and central logistics and lifting teams to ensure safe crane operations in support of large construction projects.

**Salary / Hourly Rate**

Excellent rate of pay ranging from £22.30-23.20 per hour depending upon experience.

Roles and Responsibilities:
The roles and responsibilities of a crane supervisor include, but are not limited to:
**1. Preparing for the task**:
a. Reviewing the lifting plan and risk assessment before starting the job
b. Ensuring that crane and rigging equipment is in good condition and fit for purpose
c. Ensuring that appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is worn by crane operators and riggers

**2. Supervising crane operations**:
a. Monitoring crane operations to ensure that they are carried out safely and efficiently
b. Ensuring that the crane is set up and operated in compliance with safety regulations and procedures
c. Communicating with crane operators and riggers to ensure that they understand the work being carried out and any potential hazards

**3. Ensuring safety**

a. Stopping any unsafe lifts and reporting any incidents or near misses to the supervisor
b. Ensuring that the work area is clear of people or obstacles during the lift
c. Ensuring that all crane and rigging equipment is in good condition and well-maintained

**4. Maintaining records**:
a. Maintaining records of all crane and rigging equipment, including inspection records and maintenance logs
b. Keeping records of all lifts carried out on the construction site, including the weight of the load, the height of the lift, and any hazards or issues encountered during the lift

**5. Managing the crane team**:
a. Managing the crane team, including crane operators and riggers, to ensure that work is carried out efficiently and safely
b. Providing training and support to the crane team to ensure that they have the necessary skills and knowledge to carry out their work safely and effectively
c. Conducting performance reviews of the crane team and providing feedback and guidance for improvement
