Grounds Maintenance Operative

**Hours: 5 days a week - 40 Per week**

**Add in annual leave and T&Cs, including probationary period.**

**Rate of Pay**: £10.50 Per Hour

**Grounds Maintenance Person Required for Industrial site with Conservation Interests**

You'll have experience of working safely, producing risk assessments and being compliant with safety procedures with knowledge of industry permit to work systems.

You'll be able to demonstrate competence with machinery and equipment necessary for this role, and will have the relevant certificates required.

You will deliver practical conservation work to protect and enhance the conservation status of the landholdings based at Talacre, Flintshire. This will include habitat, species, access & conservation management.

Workload will be predominantly focus on grounds maintenance of industrial site with formal gardens & large grassed areas with some conservation activities on SSSI habitats (farmland and coastal areas).

Day-to-day reporting to Land Manager on Site.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Adhering to Health and Safety procedures.
- Maintaining the lawns and gardens within industrial setting all year round.
- Weed control using knapsack and quad bike spraying
- Grass cutting using tractor & flail, ride-on and pedestrian mowers.
- Hedge trimming and cutting.
- Minor tree works.
- Maintaining equipment.
- Practical habitat conservation work on SSSI site.

**Preferable Qualifications**
- PA1 and PA6 pesticide qualifications
- Tractor experience
- Chainsaw Certificate
- Countryside Management/Conservation

**Desirable Experience**
- Ideally a background in grounds maintenance with at least two years in a similar role
- A knowledge and passion for conservation either paid or as a volunteer
