Manucomm Recruitment are currently looking to recruit a Senior Lab Technician for a large and successful manufacturer based near Frome.This is a permanent role.

Senior Lab Technician Main tasks and responsibilities:

- Be able to carry out all tests within both labs (Chemistry and Microbiology), media preparation and operate equipment such as Autoclaves, FTIR Spectroscopes, NIR spectrometers
- Carry out environmental and plant hygiene swabs
- Carry out all media preparation
- Competent with lab data bases LIMs
- Determine and act on non-complying results by communicating information and following up with re-sampling and re-testing
- Use positive release systems for product ingredients and finished product
- Be able to decide when & how samples need to be retested.
- Be able to collate all out of spec results on the daily exception report and circulate to the designated list
- Be able to ensure that lab consumables stock is rotated correctly, conduct weekly stock-takes and notify the lab team leader when there is a need to order more stock
- dispose of waste in a safe manner
- Carry out housekeeping duties as directed by the lab team leader/ housekeeping schedules.
- Be able to work unsupervised but within an agreed work schedule.
- Demonstrate competency in testing via internal and external monitoring procedures.

Shift Pattern
Three shift rotating pattern (including Bank Holidays)
Week1 Sunday to Thursday 10pm-6am
Week2 Monday to Friday 6am-2pm
Week 3 Monday to Friday 2pm-10pm

Senior Lab Technician Salary and Benefits
- £c27,000 pa
