An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly skilled Deputy Clinical Lead to join the team at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. This post is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a passion for intravenous therapies and line care. The successful applicant must demonstrate a passion for nursing and share the team’s commitment to deliver services that are reliable, of high quality and safe in an area of work that brings challenges yet is extremely rewarding. The post holder will work closely with clinicians to provide evidence-based, holistic care to patients referred to the intravenous therapy service. The intravenous therapy team is a relatively small team with room for growth and expansion with further engagement with hospital services to support patients requiring intravenous therapies. We are based at South Shore primary Care Centre in Blackpool.

We are looking to recruit an experienced, motivated, enthusiastic nurse who has over 5 years post qualification experience who is able to work autonomously and as a team player.

**Clinical Duties**:
Manage a defined clinical caseload effectively and efficiently regarding clinical priorities and the use of time, if appropriate.

Undertake individual health needs assessments of patients/clients, formulate a clinical opinion, discuss care options, provide advice, training and instruction to patients/clients, relatives, and carers to enable understanding of proposals/ treatment plans and make recommendations and agree a goal orientated programme of care. Implement and evaluate care plans/programmes in collaboration with the patient/client, family, and carers within the defined caseload.

Gain informed consent for treatment and can work with patients/clients who lack the capacity to give consent. This will involve acting as a resource for staff on difficulties regarding consent issues.

Give advice and make decisions on the prescription of both intravenous and oral therapy to be used to support patient/client care. Provided the required prescriptions where appropriate.

Provide evidence-based advice, guidance, and support on complex cases to staff within the team.

Prepare and present clinical reports, if/as required, at relevant MDT meetings, educational and medical case conferences.

The post holder will be responsible for managing the deployment and supervision of an integrated clinical team working within the team and providing both clinical and managerial leadership in the absence of the Clinical Lead.

Responsibility for the leadership and management of the day-to-day delivery of services including managing issues relating to HR, performance management and compliance with Care Quality Commission Standards.

Working under the direction of the Clinical Lead and in collaboration with colleagues and key stakeholders, ensure the delivery of a coordinated, multidisciplinary, and multi-agency service, as well as timely transfer of care into the service. This includes planning, delivering, evaluation and development of the services for which they are responsible. Monitoring and analysing performance data against agreed targets for the team. Developing and agreeing action plans to address performance issues.
