A London based energy company currently requires a Head of Asset Management to join them on a permanent basis. Reporting to the Operations Director, the Head of Asset Management is accountable for the development and implementation a ISO 55001 compliant AssetManagement Strategy and System - to guide the organization, key stakeholders and its supply-chain through a period of significant change and the transition from an owner and operator to a 'world-class' operator and maintainer.
You will be responsible for;
- Engaging and communicating with key internal and external stakeholders to develop and implement the Asset Management Strategy and System, providing necessary governance and assurance, and promoting the business as a place of high-performance.
- Asset investment planning, and life-cycle cost and performance optimisation - working closely with the Head of Energy Centre, Head of Engineering, Transition Director and other key stakeholders to develop and implement the procedures and processes to beapplied to day-to-day operations and maintenance activities.
- Leadership of the asset management function, raising the profile of asset management within the organization and ensuring all stakeholders understand and follow the strategy and agreed protocols to achieve asset management objectives.
- This role includes the overall design and management of the organisation's asset management system (documents and tools) governing the assets resulting from the major infrastructure programme which will see the investment of over £1.2bn in new recycling,energy and resource recovery facilities
- The Head of Asset Management will play a key role in the ongoing transformation programme, building on the strong legacy to drive continuous improvement and deliver efficiencies, cost savings and significant benefits in environmental impact and safety.
- Working closely with teams across the business, they will be able to constructively challenge, partner and collaborate to help develop and deliver a cohesive, value-driven proposition and strategy which strikes the right balance between financial performance,risk management, operational performance and service delivery.
- Working with the Board, Executive Directors and senior leadership team to develop and deliver long term business plans.
- Leadership and development of an Asset Management team, with involvement across a range of locations across north London.
- Supporting the sub-committees of the Board which take the lead in overseeing and seeking assurance on the organisation's asset stewardship and the delivery of its major works.
- Represent in an asset management context as part of negotiations with bidders, suppliers, contractors and other stakeholders.
- Leading and developing a high-performing, empowered asset management and project/programme delivery team that positively engages with, supports and delivers real value to the organisation and which provides for succession.
- Driving continuous improvement, enhancing management systems, processes and information to support asset management decision-making and ensure full alignment and support for the organisation and delivery of its key priorities in the medium and long term.
- Working with the communications team to ensure that comprehensive and proactive communication strategies and plans are in place and implemented to effectively manage stakeholder expectations and relationships.
- Contributing positively and broadly to the organisation's culture, in the context of an ongoing transformation.
- Leading by example and in respect of their values to promote safety, trust and ownership in all aspects of the organisation's work.
- Ability to think strategically, plan, lead (including transformational change) with a high degree of business acumen and a practical mindset.
- Data literate with the ability to create clear and accessible insight and information for the Organisation that can support decision making.
- Ability to take and lead critical decision, resolve issues, and simplify the complexity.
- Confident leader with the ability to coach and engage a team, so as main stakeholders (including at senior level).
- Ability to bring innovative ideas within the organisation and be clear on "what good look like", with the ability to share the vision.
- Strong communication skills (for all level of the organisation)
- Similar experience as Head of or managerial level in similar industry or equivalent (power, energy, utilities).
- Experience of dealing with and leading other Senior Leaders through transformation and/or change inititatives.
- Developing and implementing an ISO 55001 compliant Asset Management System
- Prior operational experience is desirable but not mandatory.
- Degree or Master's degree is desirable.
- Institute of Asset Management (IAM) Qualification (desirable)
- Knowledge of D365, Power BI, IBM Maximo and/or similar data management and analysis tools (desirable)
