**About the Role**:
**NSRS PLARS Deputy Supervisor**
**Full-Time, Permanent**
**HMNB Clyde, Faslane**

JFD is the world leading underwater capability provider, serving the commercial and defence markets with innovative diving, submarine and hyperbaric rescue, technical solutions and services.

As NSRS PLARS (Portable Launch and Recovery System) Deputy Supervisor you will support the NATO Submarine Rescue System (NSRS) and will be based at HMNB Clyde, Faslane.

The PLARS Deputy Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the rescue readiness of the PLARS, including auxiliary equipment and maintenance. The Deputy Supervisor will support mobilisation and conduct operation of the PLARS system at sea and at base.

**Key Accountabilities**
- Responsible for managing the completion of the planned/scheduled and corrective/unscheduled corrective maintenance in accordance with approved documentation
- Ensuring that the physical assets match to the design documentation
- Reporting obsolescence issues and risks
- Raising any defects to the ISS Engineering team through Engineering Queries
- Responsible for maintenance of and if required, development of new, Job Information Cards (JIC)
- Declaring any DRACAS incidents to the ILS Engineer
- Responsible for mobilisation and at-sea operation of the PLARS, training and maintain competence in the deployment and operation of assets in accordance with operating procedures
- Adhere with safety and security rules and evacuation procedures, to include compliance with practice and exercise routines
- Provide support to the NSRS PLARS Supervisor and Maintenance Manager as required.
- Provide support to JFD’s global submarine Escape and Rescue organisation.

**Knowledge and Skills**
- Qualified in Mechanical Engineering or qualified by experience
- First Aid
- Offshore Leadership
- Personal Safety Courses
- Working from Height
- Lift Supervisor course
- Stage 2 Hydraulics course
- Hydraulic hose manufacturer course
- Advanced compressors/generators course
- Confined Space
- Appropriate Medical Certificate for designated working environment
- Full clean driving Licence
- Leadership and Management Training

**Experience**
- Time served in engineering hydraulics
- Previous experience working within maintenance
- Experience in Deck Operations
- Previous experience of commercially sensitive projects
- Be familiar with working to marine and defence standards
- Previous experience in the Lift Systems (desirable)
- Military/Commercial Submarine Rescue experience (desirable)
- Skills working in a submarine rescue systems (desirable)
- Public Service/defence/offshore background (desirable)
