Hygiene Manager

Lucid is pleased to be acting on behalf privately-owned bakery business based in South Wales. From our 100,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art facility in South Wales they produce a Welsh-class range of branded and own-label savoury pastries: from delicious pies,sausage rolls, pasties, slices to quiches

**Overview**:

- To lead and manage an effective 24 hour Hygiene Function ensuring systems and standards are at all times fully compliant with relevant Legislation, Customer/BRC and Site requirements. Work closely with colleagues across the site to improve quality and hygieneto our customers and reduce complaints.
- To work with the Technical Manager in maintaining the hygiene system and to ensure that all documented procedures are completed.
- To control, monitor and audit hygiene practices, to ensure that standards are maintained throughout site operations.
- To ensure that production are provided with clean equipment and environment to ensure customer orders are met in full.

**Key Skills**:

- Working knowledge of relevant legislative criteria and industry standards for food production.
- Good working knowledge of food hygiene
- preferably trained to intermediate food hygiene as a minimum.
- COSHH trained with a good working knowledge of chemicals and hygiene equipment.
- Basic awareness of Health and safety
- General process and product knowledge
- Knowledge of key legislation relating to the food industry
- Good communication both written and verbal. Organised and able to work to tight deadlines.
- Understanding of the company goals and structure - adaptability to work in a changing environment
