Autism Support Worker

Be an Autism Support Worker
Do you want to work over the weekends and holidays?
"Can’t" is not a word we use at Resources for Autism.
We believe everyone can take the next step with the right support.
For over 20 years that is exactly what we have been providing.
From one to one care to social groups and holiday clubs, our practical support helps autistic children and adults and those who love and care for them, live life the way they want to.
Right now, we provide this support to 2000 individuals ever year.
We want to double this number as soon as we can.
This is more than caring day to day.
Join us and you can help change the way everyone views and supports autistic people.
As an **Autism Support Worker** you will:
- Work directly with autistic children, young people and adults and their families, coming up with creative ways to help them reach their goals
- Plan fun, meaningful activities that will help the service user work towards their ambitions and create a safe, stable environment
- Develop connections with the people you are working with and their family and carers to help them better understand autism.
And you will do this as part of a growing, professional, passionate team who value the ideas you want to bring and want to help you do your best.
**What we are looking for**
If you have experience working with autism or special needs, this is great. However, not essential.
It is more important that you are open, accepting, innovative and share the understanding that everyone can feel proud to be themselves. We can teach you the rest. **The role requires availability to work weekends in different clubs in Waltham Forest and Southwark. Also, there are options to work on our play schemes running in Barnet, Waltham Forest and Southwark for holidays.**
Sessions may not always go as planned. So be ready to think on your feet. Be ready to learn, think creatively and share ideas that will help our service users.
We are looking forward to meeting you
