Our client is looking for a Buyer / Planner - Raw Materials on a permanent basis, located in Aberdeen.

**ROLE**

The Buyer/Planner Raw Materials will work with the Purchasing Manager in the execution of sourcing strategy for all Bulk and Non-Bulk Materials. Serves as key point of contact with suppliers. Acts as a team spokesperson / interface with Planning and Production as appropriate to develop/implement strategy.

Assists the Purchasing Manager with preparing, managing and coordinating agreements. Accountable for the procurement of all stock related parts. Helps evaluate and select suppliers in terms of quality, service, cost, capability and performance. Assists in development of procurement strategies in conjunction with the business. Ensures competitive pricing & service versus industry trends and marketplace dynamics. Helps resolve quality, service, supply and invoicing issues with suppliers. Identifies and drives continuous improvement.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Coordinate a twice weekly Material Demand Report (MDR) meeting to all relevant stakeholders.
- Purchasing all materials and goods and manage purchase order deliveries with suppliers from the MDR.
- Ensuring all Bulk and Non-Bulk materials are purchased on time and under budget.
- Negotiate and deliver savings to meet business requirements and objectives.
- Manages communications with suppliers and serves as the main point of contact for raw materials.
- Helps design & lead the implementation plan of the procurement strategy.
- Supporting other departments to forecast demand.
- Coordinate bid/supplier meetings.
- Help to resolve supplier performance issues.
- Ensure supplier expediting is carried out, monitored and reported.
- Phones suppliers regularly to establish rapport and build relationships.
- Lead and enable effective resolution of emergency sourcing needs.
- Help manage/monitor Bulk & Non-Bulk supplier rebates, ensuring targets are on track and achieved.
- Accountable for preparing month end department reports.
- Understand business requirements and needs.
- Any other reasonable task as requested by the Purchasing Manager.
- Financial analysis
- Create reports for all supplier visits and take minutes from the meetings.

**REQUIREMENTS**

**Qualifications**:

- CIPs desirable.

Experience
- Planning and Supply Chain experience.
- Sourcing work experience preferred.
- Proven track record for delivering results in planning & purchasing.
- Strong interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure, and multi-task.
- Good analytical and reporting skills.
- Flexible, pragmatic, independent and deadline focused.
- Confident negotiator would be an advantage.

Skills / Training
- Demonstrate an ability to effectively utilise resources, and the ability to plan, control, and take responsibility for own work.
- Advanced Excel Skills & experience in Microsoft Office products.
- Strong communication skills.
- General office administration experience.
- Keyboard and computer systems skills.
- Computer literacy.
