Intermediate Fitter

**Role**:
These roles report into the Assembly Team Leader and Assembly Supervisor. The purpose of the roles is to assist in the manufacture of hydraulic and mechanical equipment. The role requires an understanding of hand and power tools, calibrated tools such as torque wrenches, Micrometres, Vernier Callipers etc.

**Duties will include**:

- Working alongside tradesperson on complex assemblies.
- Assisting tradesperson with lifting and handling of assemblies.
- Assisting tradesperson by collecting tooling and consumables when required to ensure assembly downtime is at a minimum.
- Completing assemblies, tying wire, Loctite, labels, oil fill, Blanking equipment etc to allow the tradesman to move onto technical work.
- Retrieving equipment and prepare equipment for assembly, route card, drawing process plan, tooling availability.
- Assisting tradesperson with clean down of working area.
- Effective team-working and communication.
- Selecting appropriate hand tool or power tool to deburr items, form chamfers, radius’s etc

**Essential skills, experience, and knowledge requirements**:

- Standard grades, NAT 5 qualifications or equivalent.
- A proactive attitude.
- A genuine Interest in Mechanical Engineering
- Willing to learn and develop new skills.
- Good all-round knowledge and experience of mechanical tools.
- Capable of following manufacturing processes and instructions.
- No formal qualification required but Experience with mechanical equipment or production environments required.
