Tarmac Supervisor

A P Transport is an experienced, council approved highways contractor providing a vast array of services encompassing groundworks, surfacing, tipper and plant hire. Operating throughout Gloucestershire and into Wiltshire, we are looking to expand our team in order to take on new work and to expand our capabilities.

**The Role - Supervisor**

We are looking for a reliable individual to join our business, as a Supervisor for a small tarmac and civils team. The team generally carry out small footpath, patching and drainage works across Gloucestershire.

This role is office-based, but will also require you to be on site regularly.

Your main responsibilities will include:

- Managing the team and carrying out site supervision activities
- Ensuring all work is being carried out safely, and in line with specification
- Working with the client(s) to agree a continuous programme of works
- Inspecting sites prior to commencement of work
- Ordering plant and materials on a daily basis
- Carrying out site measurements
- Preparation and reporting of financial results for each site

This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week Monday to Friday. There is no requirement for staying away and night/weekend works are extremely infrequent. We will provide you with all the necessary PPE.

There is scope for expansion into other areas, so a working relationship within another industry/with other companies in the area would be advantageous and could lead to promotion and pay increases in future.

**Location**

You will be based at our head office, located on the outskirts of Cirencester, with free parking. However, you will need to travel to sites throughout Gloucestershire to carry out the role effectively. A company vehicle will be provided, as will all fuel used for business purposes.

**Qualifications and Experience**

Experience working in a similar role within the Highways sector is extremely desirable, as is the ability to measure sites and having an understanding of schedule of rates.

Other certifications and tickets that would be an advantage are listed below. However, suitable training and development will be provided.
- Streetworks (NRSWA) Supervisor
- SSSTS/SMSTS
- Highways management qualification
- Any other relevant qualifications

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £30,000.00-£38,000.00 per year
