We are seeking a super-efficient full time Accounts Assistant to join our Finance team based at our Swanage office.

**The role**
The role will entail carrying out the following tasks in a timely and efficient manner to ensure the highest level of service:

- Accessing the firm's bank accounts online, checking for new transactions and completing paperwork as required
- Drawing cheques and sending payments online
- Dealing with Overseas Currency Transactions
- Daily posting of all financial transactions to include bank receipts, cheques, CHAPS, faster payments, purchase ledger payments and transfers using the SOS Practice Management accounting system
- Checking and paying counsel fees etc as appropriate, when bills are paid
- Checking authorisation, coding, and posting supplier invoices.
- Paying suppliers each month
- Liaising with suppliers on accounts queries as necessary
- Checking supplier statements against purchase ledger records
- Housekeeping including writing off disbursement and time balances
- Filing of all related finance paperwork
- Accurate and timely recording of all banking and disbursement transactions
- Reviewing and processing of expense claims
- Assisting with Bill processing (checking, numbering and posting bills).
- Interest calculations on client money
- Reconciling bank, petty cash and general ledgers

**About you**
You should have a minimum of circa two year’s recent accounts experience, gained within a fast paced professional environment, preferably within Legal Practice, although this is not essential as training can be given.

**Other info**:

- Hours:_ Full time, Monday - Friday, 9.00am - 5.00pm with 1 hour lunch (35 hours per week)
- Salary: £22,000 - _ £25,000 p/a ( salary will depend on skills, experience and qualification level)
Work location: Office based. Due to to the nature of work and client confidentiality, this role is not able to be worked remotely.
