We are looking to recruit a Receptionist /Care Navigator to join our team (19.25 hours per week). You will ideally have experience of working in a fast pace environment where accuracy, attention to detail and diligence are of paramount importance. You will be well supported by a team but you will need to have the confidence to use your own initiative when making decisions while following practice guidelines. This is a role which is always changing; you will need to be able to adapt your style/approach of working to fit each situation you are presented with.

**Job Summary**
- Using Care Navigation to ensure that patients are booked in with appropriate clinicians or correct service (this means politely asking patients about the nature of their illness/requirement to see a clinician)
- Directing patients to alternative services such as minor injury or care centres when the Riverside clinicians are fully booked
- Liaising with Doctors, Nursing team, Admin and external health care professionals
- Responsibility of opening and closing the Practice.
- Carrying out a range of administration tasks as required
- Carrying out and following emergency procedures when needed
- Keeping up to date with training both online and face to face

**Skills**
- Have the ability to keep calm and kind when presented with challenging situations is absolutely essential
- Kindness is absolutely paramount, as well as the ability to show empathy to patients
- As a central point of contact for the Practice, excellent verbal and written communication skills are important to liaise with Practice team including GP’s and Clinical team, patients, hospitals & other healthcare professionals.
- Have the ability to work methodically, accurately and be self-motivated is essential
- Excellent organisational skills to prioritise own workload while also supporting team members

**Experience**
- Working in a customer service role is a distinct advantage
- Having experience of complaint handling or dealing with difficult customers/situations is an advantage
- Experience of working in a fast pace environment, where accuracy, compassion and empathy are of paramount importance.

**Salary**: in line with minimum wage.

**Hours**: 19.25

Monday usual day off

Tuesday 07.45 - 13.00

Wednesday 07.45 - 13.00 & 14.00 - 18.15

Thursday usual day off

Friday 13:00 - 17.30

**The shifts on Reception are between the hours of 7.30am and 6.15pm Monday to Friday. The successful applicant will be required to work additional shifts (extra to scheduled) to cover colleagues holidays/sickness.**

**Please note that generally the Receptionists work overtime every month, which usually required on your usual day off, flexibility to be able to work extra hours is essential.**
