**Salary**:£40,000 - £50,000 per annum, depending on experience
**Hours**:37.5 hours per week, ½ day finish on Fridays, onsite parking.

Due to substantial business growth a leading global manufacturing company based in Poole are seeking to add an experienced Design Engineer to their team.
Reporting to the Department Manager and Director, you will be supporting NPI and client projects dealing with low, medium and high-volume manufacture leading the design, validation and seeing through to manufacture.

This position will suit an experienced Design Engineer who has a passion for design and with an innovative & creative approach.
Within this role you will be responsible for (but not limited to):
- Lead design solutions for low, medium, and high-volume customer accounts and roadmap.
- Technically manage designated new projects through to production.
- Optimise medium / high volume products, focusing on Design for Manufacture, reduced material cost and improved performance.
- Ensure that all products are designed in accordance with customer requirements, company practice and recognised engineering standards.
- Generate, GA’s, detail drawings and BoMs.
- Facilitate PDS, DVP’s, DFMEA’s and other supporting documents towards CE, UKCA, UL etc.
- To undertake and record calculations on studies to validate the design.
- To collaborate fully with cross functional teams on new product launches.
- Coordinate with Test Department to specify and create test equipment.
This position requires the following key skills and attributes:
- Previous experience as a Design Engineer
- Broad knowledge and expertise of Engineering (Electromechanical / Mechanical).
- Demonstratable experience of designing - castings, injection mouldings, machined components, and manufacturing/assembly techniques.
- Knowledge of modern design, development techniques and best practice.
- Recent experience using Solidworks
- FEA analysis experience.
- Excellent IT skills including Microsoft
- A creative approach for generating new ideas
**Hours**: 37.5 hours per week - Monday - Friday; 8am - 5pm with an earlier finish on a Friday
