A very busy and popular independent restaurant with rooms with a loyal customer base is seeking to recruit a Restaurant Assistant that is available to cover shifts on a Lunch, Evening & Weekends.

As a restaurant assistant you will have the ability to effectively deliver and exceed our guests' need and expectations and to provide the highest level of personalized customer service.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:
Display the highest standards of hospitality and ensure guests are made to feel welcome at all times.
- Serve food and beverages to guests as per the restaurant standards in a friendly, timely and efficient manner.
- Greets guests and present them with the menu. Inform guests about the special items for the day and menu changes if any.
- Suggests food and beverages to the guest and also try to upsell.
- Issuing receipts, accepting payments, returning the change and following banking procedures at all times. Ensure all sales transaction are logged on the till.
- Performing basic cleaning tasks as needed or directed by supervisor.
- Filling in for absent staff as needed
- Communicating with guests and provide assistance with their queries.
- Communicating with the kitchen / manager to ensure smooth operation and guest satisfaction.
- Preparing and serving mixed drinks for the restaurant and at the bar.
- Adhering to grooming and appearance standards consistently.
- Helping other areas of the restaurant such as answering telephones and completing financial transactions when required as well as checking guests into the B&B and showing them to their rooms in line with company standards.
- You must be over the age of 18 as you will be expected to work on the bar unsupervised.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 30 per week

**Salary**: £6.83-£9.50 per hour
