My client is a world leader in the design, manufacture and installation of complete weighing and packing line solutions. They currently have an exciting opportunity for a **Shift Manager - PM's** to join their organisation based in Birmingham.
**Main Purpose of the role**:
The Shift Manager is directly responsible for the day-to-day management of the assembly team resources within their allocated product sections. This scope includes the leading and management of the people and processes required to achieve the organisationalobjectives within Safety, Quality, Delivery, Morale & Cost. The Shift Manager retains overall accountability for the performance of their allocated product section as defined and must operate and behave in a manner which supports the core values of the business.

- Days/hours of work: Monday to Wednesday 3pm - 1am, Thursday 3pm - 12:30am

**Key Duties**:

- To manage Assembly Technician resourcing in accordance with production schedule.
- Lead the assembly teams, ensuring allocated staffing levels are in place, managing holiday allowances, recruitment, training, coaching & development, appraisals, attendance and disciplinary issues.
- Accountability for assembly, testing and commissioning work on-time to the correct specification and quality standards within section.
- Support Senior Technicians, helping them respond to calls in a timely manner when escalated.
- Escalating to Production Management when required.
- To ensure full compliance with UK Health and Safety Regulations.
- To ensure full compliance with quality standards
- Create and monitor business KPI and improvement targets as directed
- To champion continuous improvement activities.
- To adhere to all deadlines and targets set by the Production Manager.
- Establish good working relationship with assembly teams, planning, purchasing and other key members of Operations.
- Reporting of Health and Safety issues to the Production Manager with resolutions
- Ensure a robust handover between shifts with other Shift Managers.
- Work as part of the Assembly Leadership team to make recommendations and improve the assembly processes to support customer
- Be responsible to improve assembly aids, work instructions, documentation (route cards and build manuals) and workspace layout to ensure improvement of KPI's.
- Respond to and investigate assembly quality issues when escalated.
- Provide regular/routine reports to management as and when required
- Always enforce factory 5S scheme.

**Skills/Experience required**:

- Proven track record with leading teams to successfully achieve objectives
- Skilled in the management of human resources
- Mentor, coach and develop people within team to fulfil their full potential.
- A skilled problem solver, able to build strong relationships with own team members and able to build strong working relationships with relevant internal business stakeholders.
- Able to interpret production schedules and allocate/prioritise resources accordingly. Is a confident communicator and articulates well to leadership and reports.
- Able to create and present business benefit proposals to senior leadership.
- You will need to be creative and able to generate ideas to support change, have a thirst for learning and a role model for others willing to learn and develop.
- You must be able to work under pressure and not let it affect the quality of work, actively take accountability.
- Be respectful, committed and customer focused, showing flexibility, enthusiasm and discipline.
