**MEDIATION BUCKINGHAMSHIRE JOB DESCRIPTION**

**JOB TITLE: Casework Officer**

**RESPONSIBLE TO: Senior Casework Manager**

**MAIN JOB PURPOSE**:
**Main purpose**:
The role of the Mediation Buckinghamshire (MB) caseworker is to manage a conflict resolution related caseload and to undertake associated duties relating to the provision of a high-quality mediation and conflict resolutions service to clients, volunteers, and referrers across the Thames Valley.

Caseworkers are involved throughout the conflict resolution process, and will be expect to support MB in the provision of mediation and conflict support services in accordance with
MB policies and procedures.

As part of a small paid staff team that enables the delivery of our service, primarily through a network of trained volunteers, we would expect all team members to be flexible and undertake activities across all areas of work where they have the skills or have been trained to do so _._

**HOURS OF WORK: 22.5 ** hours per week (time distribution to be agreed with MB)

**LOCATION - **Office based

**SALARY**: £20,500 - £22,000 pro rata p.a according to experience
- **KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:
**Casework**
- Carry out the initial assessment of all referrals and to triage these referrals including contacting clients to introduce the service and allocating volunteer mediators;
- Liaise with clients to arrange meetings and appointments.
- Set up and maintain detailed electronic case files, using CMR systems,
- Work to agreed standards, maintain monitoring data to assist in performance management and reporting;
- Regularly review and monitor each case.

- Work with the Senior Caseworker to promote positive relationships with our referrers and partners;
- Carry out evidence collating process as required including surveys and satisfaction checks;
- Where required signpost clients to other agencies as appropriate.

**Volunteers**
- Provide support to our volunteers.
- Attend and provide support for volunteer events and MB events, as required;
**Administration & Reporting**
- You will be responsible for ensuring that administrative processes are maintained, and records updated and managed efficiently.
- Meet established targets, ensuring that effective reporting and monitoring systems are maintained

**General**
- Adhere and deliver to best practice the MB policies and procedures including adhering to confidentiality and data protection practice, health & safety and safeguarding policies;
- Promote the best interests of conflict resolution service across the Thames Valley;
- Undertake training as required/identified;
- To be willing to work flexibly, with attendance at occasional evening meetings if required;
- To work as part of a team but also be able to work independently when required;
- Attend and participate in MB supervision in accordance with MB policies and procedures
- Uphold the values and mission of MB at all times;
