JOB PURPOSE

To manage and successfully lead a team of Project Managers to deliver the CIDP programme. To champion the collaborative working relationship with our client, DIO, (Defence Infrastructure Organisation) and customer, British Forces South Atlantic (BFSAI)

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES / KEY RESULTS AREAS:

- Manage the Project team to deliver the customers programme in line with the business budget & forecast expectations.
- Build and maintain strong client and customer relations and champion collaboration in all aspects of delivery.
- Provide leadership and direction to the project team in the planning, procurement and delivery of the CIDP Programme.
- Work with the Commercial Manager to agree the Annual Procurement strategy (APS) for the entire works programme seeking ultimate approval from DIO Commercial.
- Review and where appropriate, improve project control documentation, processes and procedures to support delivery of works and continuous improvement.
- Chair monthly WIP meetings and update DIO / key stakeholders with progress against the agreed APS, establish risk registers for each major work task (>240K) and agree necessary mitigation strategy to secure delivery on time, on budget and to the agreed quality.
- . Support the Commercial Manager with the production of ‘Delivery' Graphs for measuring monthly performance & progress against the APS & CIDP Programme.

8. Coordinate CDM requirements in conjunction with the client, designer, contractor, project Manager & QSHE Manager.

9. Ensure all of works under your responsibility are carried out in full compliance with legislative requirements and Mitie Health & Safety Policies and QSHE IMS framework.

10. Demonstrate accurate financial monitoring and control of all works under your control, providing monthly updates to the commercial manager on Forecast of Outturn vs budget & forecast.

11. Work closely with the Asset Manager & DEL Manager throughout the planning and delivery stages to ensure all works handed over for maintenance have all relevant asset information in place to support compliant PPM requirements.

12. Coordinate the planning & mobilisation of suppliers through close liaison with the key ISP support teams such as; stores, plant manager and Admin for flights, accommodation and IT support.

13. Ensure all works on the CIDP Programme are accurately entered and recorded in Maximo Information Management system; this is to include progress percentages, progress logs, uploading of relevant supporting information for all works contained on the CIDP Programme.

14. Control and monitor the performance of all suppliers, contractors and consultants employed on your works; focussing on safety, quality and costs to time as per agreed programming.

15. Carry out any other duties as directed by your line manager (Account Manager), or wider Senior Management team.

16. Manage all departmental HR issues in line with the Mitie's HR policies and procedures.

17. Manage the departmental training needs in support of delivery and in line with budget in conjunction with the QSHE Department.

Education /Qualifications /Training

Educated to a recognised Engineering Standard HND level (or equivalent) in B&CE, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.

Experienced in leading, managing and delivering wide and varied project work
- Experience in financial monitoring and cost control of large programmes of work Educated to degree level (or equivalent) in B&CE, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.

Minimum of IOSH Working Safely or equivalent

Ideally from a PFI, civil or other construction backgrounds, refurbishment works will be considered

Knowledge & Experience

Experience of facilities management in the maintenance and construction industry or Defence sector.

Must be able to read detailed designs and specifications.

Good Commercial acumen.

Experience in Engineering & Management of Technical Staff.

Previous experience in the Falkland Islands or working overseas.

Fuels experience (both design, installation and maintenance)

Skills & Abilities

Full driving license.

Ability to work on own initiative or as part of a team.

Excellent communication skills. - Must be computer literate - Word, Excel, Microsoft Project & Web Access.

Able to utilise experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. - Leads and directs the work of others, a wide degree of creativity and latitude is required. - Show leadership and confidence.

A meticulous approach to record keeping.

Proven ability in supervising/coordinating multicultural workforce.

Ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
