**About The Service**
The Adult Safeguarding Service and Social Inclusion Unit is positioned in the Adult Services, Housing and Communities directorate. The services work in partnership with Police, Health, Probation and other agencies to effectively Safeguard citizens of Cardiff and support people to live their lives free of abuse or neglect or the risk of it. Research shows that nearly a quarter of all adults will experience domestic abuse in their lifetime. The Multi Agency Risk Assessment Conference (MARAC) is a standing multi agency meeting, delivering processes to safeguard those experiencing or at risk of domestic abuse in the highest risk categories. As a Local Authority we recognise the importance of supporting people to live free from abuse or neglect or the risk of it and focus our work on achieving positive outcomes for the people we work with. **About the job**
This is a Grade 6 MARAC Coordinator post (37 hours per week), available in the Adult Safeguarding Service and Social Inclusion Unit within Cardiff Council’s Adult Services, Housing and Communities directorate. The post is responsible for the coordination of the MARAC process in line with local and national requirements and works across established partnerships to effectively safeguard those most at risk. **What We Are Looking For From You**:

- A commitment to the Safeguarding of the citizens of Cardiff. - Enthusiasm and passion for making a difference to the lives of people with a care and support need. - An understanding of the importance of equality and inclusiveness in a person’s wellbeing. - A strong value base and commitment to promoting and protecting the rights of an individual who may be experiencing or at risk of experiencing abuse. - A commitment to multi-agency and partnership working across services and organisations. - An understanding of the importance of working to procedural guidelines and of accuracy and productivity to achieve outcomes for the citizens of Cardiff. - A willingness to learn and develop your own knowledge and practice and to engage in a supportive learning environment. - An awareness of relevant legislative drivers to safeguarding people at risk of domestic abuse. - The ability to work under pressure and prioritise work when situations arise that require immediate attention. - The ability to speak other languages, in particular Welsh, and Community Languages would be an advantage.
