**Accounts Assistant / Trainee Accountant**

S Morris Ltd is a private family-owned company with over 100 years of history. We are a leading supplier of ready-mix concrete and concrete products to the construction industry in the Somerset, Devon, Wiltshire, Dorset and Hampshire markets.

We are looking for an Accounts Assistant to join our head office near Somerset on a 6 month fixed term contract.

**Purpose of the job**

Reporting to the Management Accountant and the Head of Finance the Accounts Assistant will be responsible for the daily management of the sales ledger ensuring entries are posted in a timely manner and invoices are sent out and subsequently paid. You will build relationships with key customers and provide an all-round outstanding service to them. This role is offered under a fixed term contract for a period of 6 months.

**Job description**

Income Processing - Daily processing of the income received into the bank and allocating it to the sales ledger accounts per the remittances.

Invoicing - liaise with the branch managers for approval of invoicing, making amendments as necessary and send out to customers. Verify cash sale invoices to the order/payment.

Sending statements - prepare monthly debtor statements on Opera and ensure these are sent out to all customers.

Credit Control**:

- **Ensure that customers are paying in line with their credit terms. You will monitor the customer balances and bring any potential credit risks or concerns to the attention of the Management Accountant/ Head of Finance.

Cash sales reconciliation - Reconcile receipts to invoices on a daily basis.

Queries - Responsible for reviewing and responding to all debtor queries as they arise.

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Somerset, TA11 7AN: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Education**:

- GCSE or equivalent (preferred)
