Esol Resettlement Tutor
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and experienced ESOL (English for Speakers of other Languages) Tutor to deliver in the East/centre of the County, potentially including evenings and possibly at weekends, and also be a key point of liaison, contact and support for refugees, their community sponsors, and the Council Resettlement Service. This will maximise the integration of language teaching and other aspects of the community support for families.
The post holder will effectively deliver high quality learning opportunities to probably small groups of adults, ensuring maximum retention of learners and achievement of qualifications. It is likely that they will also be responsible for directing and supporting a Learning Support Assistant where necessary. The role requires the ability to assess learners, identify appropriate support and planning and delivering high quality tuition to ensure maximum learner retention and achievement of City & Guilds ESOL qualifications. In the context of resettlement, programmes will also include more informal language development and access to wider Community Learning opportunities, e.g. têxtiles, which the post-holder will facilitate rather than directly deliver.
This is a public/customer-facing role, where the statutory English language requirement for public sector workers applies.
Whilst the location/work-base for this role may have been specified our evolving ways of working means that the role may require you to also work remotely (e.g., from home/other locations). We will discuss this with you during the recruitment process.
We are happy to talk about flexible working options such as part-time or compressed hours. More examples of our flexible working opportunities can be found here - flexible working options.
This is a 2-year fixed term contract to cover a specific project.
