**Behaviour Mentor**

**Salary: £21k + company pension scheme**

**Hours: 42.5 hours/week. Term time only + 5 full training days**

**Job Role:**

To support the pupils in and out of classes and at an 8-18 co-educational SEMH special school. Every day is different, and you will be supporting pupils in classrooms, around the school's site and also on activities and trips as well as with vocational learning.The aim is to have a positive impact of each individual pupil attending the school.

**Responsibilities:**
- assisting and managing the return of students back to the classroom
- implement agreed strategies to manage and improve the behaviour of students in the school
- monitor and analyse the behaviour of students using the online behaviour management system
- providing an on-call response to support teaching and learning
- supporting students in following the rules of the school, helping to enforce school behaviour expectations
- to assist in the organisation of a reward system for the school and the encouragement of student responsibilities
- to work with the Assistant Headteacher for Inclusion to develop and promote strategies to improve behaviour throughout the school
- to coach students about how to manage their emotions and feelings leading to better self-regulation and self-management

**Skills, qualifications and experience required:**
- experience working in a challenging educational environment
- knowledge of safeguarding, SEN and impact on behaviour
- Physical Intervention training
- desire to thrive for the best interests of children
- a UK valid driving licence

**Location:**

Based in the lovely area of Oakham (LE15), juust going straight down on B640, owning a vehicle is essential due to the location of the school, no public transport is available.
