First Achieve Recruitment’s engineering department have a fantastic new opportunity for a Grit Blaster. You would be working with our client who is a multi-national professional within the design and manufacturing industry.
This role reports directly into the Paint Supervisor. The purpose of this role is to Grit blast a range of components to a high standard ensuring the correct profile is achieved and be responsible for the inspection of Grit blast profile recordings. Ensuring they meet customer requirements as per customer specifications. Support paint department to prepare equipment for painting and assist with painting when suitably qualified.

Duties of the role:
**Grit Blast**
- Preparation of jobs prior to painting, Grit blasting and masking.
- Operate forklift when required. (Training to be provided)
- Operate overhead crane as and when required.
- Quality Checking own work.
- Liaising with other departments/colleagues to achieve the results on the work to list
- Recording & maintaining evidence of inspections and tests results.
- Ensure that all activities comply with all the relevant procedures and standards.
- Assist paint department with Masking, de-masking and any other paint associated tasks
**Paint Application Support**
- Assist with masking and blanking equipment prior to gritblast and Paint.
- Assist with the mixing of paint for specific projects.
- Support painters with housekeeping, ensuring blast room and paint area is safe and tidy.
**What we’re looking for?**
- Proactive / confident / team member / effective & assertive communicator.
- Self-starter and requires mínimal supervision.
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Willing to commit to further education (ICORR)
- Flexible (Willing to work overtime).
- Overhead crane experience
- Have an attention to detail and able to keep accurate records.
