Newborn Hearing Screener

An opportunity has arisen to work within the South East Wales Region of Newborn Hearing Screening Wales, an All-Wales programme, which provides a uniform service of high quality within an All-Wales policy and to All-Wales standards and protocols.
Based at Prince Charles Hospital, Merthyr Tydfil you will work as part of a team participating in the hearing screening of newborn babies. You will undertake the full range of newborn hearing screening duties both in a hospital and community setting.
The post is for 20 hours per week. You will be required to work full time during the initial three week training period.
You will work a set rota that includes a 4 hour Saturday morning shift each week, in addition to two set days within the working week. A copy of the rota can be provided on request to ensure that you are able to commit to these working arrangements.
Duties include communicating with the parents throughout the process, baby handling, use of screening equipment and accurately recording clinical and test data relevant to the screening process, therefore, good communication skills and experience of using a computer are essential.
You must be a confident and reliable individual and possess the ability to work well under pressure.
