**Job Description**:
As a Team Leader you will contribute to the success of the site by supporting the First Line Managers in the day-to-day running of the warehouse, ensuring all aspects of Health & Safety within the Warehouse are maintained and product is picked and dispatched to the highest standard to meet contractual KPI’s.
- Responsible for ensuring that Health & Safety is ‘No1 on the agenda’ aligned with the overall site and business goals and guidelines.
- Ensure all accidents, incidents & near misses are being reported and uploaded to Evotix.
- Complete at least one SPOT per shift.
- Complete at least one safety conversation per shift around the canopy area. Ensure keys are hung up, drivers stood at the front of their cabs, nobody exiting the warehouse door while vehicles are backing in, SSOW is being followed.
- Complete at least one safety conversation per shift around FLT driving standards, good or bad.
- Respond to any incidents or accidents on site. This includes but is not limited to ensuring that First Aid is administered, the scene is made safe and secured, the incident is investigated and uploaded to Assure within 24 hours.
- Ensure operators are working in blocks of four as a maximum
- Ensure your team have block stacked correctly, no leaning pallets, stacked to the right height
- MHE checks at end of shift for damage & cleanliness
- Ensure the team bring any problem pallets to the Team Leader
- Pallet dispatched: Create new pallet with exact SSCC (pallet) number as what’s been dispatched.
- Manage and motivate the shift team to ensure that productivity and service KPI’s are achieved or exceeded.
- Deliver communication briefings so that all shifts are aware of all Company and local issues and employees can offer input / improvements and feel involved.
- Develop all team members so that their contributions to the Warehouse can be maximised and succession plan.
- Carry out back to work interviews and support the FLM’s with note taking for any disciplinary interviews and investigations in line with Company procedure.
**Qualifications**:
- Computer literate with knowledge of Excel
- Confident at dealing with people at all level
- Adaptable and methodical approach to work/ training/ working hours
- Conscientious and reliable
- Excellent communication skills in order to deliver accurate information
- Ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure
- Effectively prioritise work load in order to meet set deadlines
- Ability to work as part of a team or individually
- Professional, approachable and helpful to ensure smooth running of the general operation
- Proactive approach and able to make decisions
