We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Head of Careers & Learning Resource Centre (LRC). This role is full time, term time only plus an additional 3 weeks (totalling 36 weeks).

This is an exciting time to be joining the College, following a recent ISI inspection and assessment for the Quality in Careers Standard (both in February 2024).

You will lead on the support of students with their decision making regarding future learning and employability options. You will be oversee the delivery and development of our Careers Strategy, working within professional frameworks of good practice (The Gatsby Benchmarks). You will provide a range of impartial career guidance services to pupils and will work in close collaboration with Dover College staff, employers, training providers and external partners to facilitate pupil progression.

The post-holder will be based in and will oversee the day to day management of our Learning Resource Centre, situated in the Senior School, creating a relaxed, productive and exciting learning environment for our students.

Salary is dependent on qualifications and experience. Informal discussions regarding this role are welcome.

Required Qualifications/Experience:

- Proven experience in career guidance, counselling or educational leadership
- Level 6 Diploma in Career Guidance and Development or equivalent
- Familiarity with the Gatsby Benchmarks
- A strong understanding of the UK higher education system, vocational/apprenticeship
- pathways and employment trends
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent relationship builder
- The ability to establish positive relationships with colleagues
- Experience of using IT to support in the execution of administrative tasks
- A commitment to promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children
- The ability to think differently about how students should be equipped for a changing world
