Due to continued business expansion, R1 Construction Ltd are looking for an experienced Accounts Assistant to join our friendly team. Working under our Finance Controller, this new full time role will manage the day to day bookkeeping entries for sales and purchase ledger.

**Accounting**_**:_
- Timely and accurate processing/posting of supplier invoices and credit notes through purchase orders.
- Application of 3-way matching accounting concept (purchase orders/goods received notes/invoices).
- Accurate analysis and coding of transactions on both sales and purchase ledger.
- Ensuring staff expenses are processed in line with the expenses policy.
- Process staff expenses and monthly credit cards in Sage. Reconcile.
- Obtaining supporting documentation and management approvals for all transactions
- Ensuring that new and authorised supplier/customer accounts are opened within the purchase ledger/sales ledger and payment terms therein reflect those agreed with the supplier/customer
- Timely and accurate preparation of supplier payments from Sage
- Prompt distribution of remittance advices
- Reconciliation of supplier statements
- Working with project admin and teams to resolve internal issues regarding supplier invoices such as coding, pricing, quantity and booking-in differences
- Being the first point of contact for external purchase ledger/sales ledger queries both externally and internally.
- Management and maintenance of purchase ledger/sales ledger accounts and supplier/customer details within the system
- Archiving and filing of purchase ledger/sales ledger documents, contracts in a timely manner in line with statutory requirements and internal control systems
- Ensuring all mileage logs are received and recorded in a timely manner
- Ad-hoc monthly management accounts prep with FC.

**Financial Control**:

- Ensuring all transactions are processed in line with the relevant VAT legislations (CIS Reverse Charge)
- Assisting with the month end process
- Assist with preparation and posting of journals
- Assisting with Year End stocktake
- Assisting with annual audit (when audit starts)

**Administrative Support**:

- Management of the company’s fuel card system
- General administrative support to Directors and Financial Controller
- Ad hoc duties assigned by the Financial Controller
- Due to the changing nature of our business your job description will inevitably change. You will, from time to time, be required to undertake other activities of a similar nature that fall within your capabilities as directed by management._

**KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / EXPERIENCE**
- Excellent attention to detail
- The ability and flexibility to work under pressure and to tight reporting deadlines
- Ability to adapt to organisational change within the department
- Structured, organised, detail orientated with ability to prioritise tasks
- Ability to work collaboratively with all departments as well as external parties
- Competent user of Microsoft Office and Sage 50 (or other accounting packages)

Have relevant qualification [AAT Level 4] or be QBE

**Salary**: £24,000.00-£26,000.00 per year
