Are you a Mechanical Superintendent with experience working on major projects?
- Do you hold a SMSTS, CSCS gold card or NVQ in Construction plant?
- Do you have experience working in SCL, TBM or conveyors?

My client is looking for a Mechanical Superintendent to co-ordinate the mechanical needs and resources through the secondary lining stage of the project. The position is a dayshift role with a requirement that the person will be able to be mobile and coverall project sites and suppliers.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Act as the Authorising Engineer to implement the Costain Mechanical Safety Rules and ensure compliance with their implementation.
- Ensure continuous improvement is driven for and maintaining consistently high standards in operation and mechanical availability.
- Manage the engineering input into the project strategic plan.
- Participate in the review of the design for buildability
- Input and comment on the form of construction, construction details, specification, issues and respond to technical queries.
- Integration of project engineering, procurement, and installation activities as well as Co-ordination of all site activities.
- Ensure the works are completed in compliance with inspection and test plans and method statements

**About you**:

- Excellent working knowledge of materials, specifications and industry working practices
- Experience in SCL, TBM or conveyors highly desirable
- SMSTS as a minimum
- CSCS gold card or NVQ in construction plant
- Familiarity with implementation of codes and standards pertaining to use and maintenance of mechanical plant and equipment
- Trade experience in use of rolling stock, concrete plant and lifting equipment.
