Job description

The communications team are responsible for managing all communications for the MPS Society including the website, a series of e-communications, social media channels, an annual newsletter and essential disease information booklets in print and online. This team is also responsible for internal and external public relations and political influencing and advocacy to get the best for our members.

**The role**:
As the Senior Marketing Communications Officer you will join a busy and creative team. You will help to develop our audience-centred engagement plan creating optimised communications across our channels, raising the profile of the charity through good news stories and campaigning for change that will transform the lives of our members. Working with the rest of the communications team you will provide communications support across the MPS Society and Rare Disease Research Partners (a not-for-profit subsidiary of the MPS Society).

You will have a broad experience of developing and delivering communications for different audiences; the ability to work independently and as part of a team; the ability to write accurately, concisely and with clarity and a high attention to detail. You will also be highly organised, juggling many strands of work, and able to demonstrate excellent analytic skills, reporting on activity across communications channels.

You will work under the guidance of the Head of Communications.

**Conditions of employment**:
The MPS Society is a charity that provides a range of care, support and activities for children and adults at risk throughout the UK. This is provided in a number of ways through our dedicated support and advocacy service, telephone helpline and out of hours support, clinical research, online activities and forums, annual events, patient expert meetings, focus groups and conferences. MPS staff, trustees and volunteers may be asked to be involved in the delivery of its regulated services and activities and therefore will require an enhanced DBS check during recruitment and for this to be reviewed on a regular basis. Barring checks will be sought as appropriate.

You must be eligible to work in the UK.

**Salary**: £26-£30k depending on experience and pro-rata for part time hours.
