Due to continuing expansion, Carrickfergus Garden Centre at Kilcreggan wish to appoint a full-time permanent horticulturist to join the team.

Carrickfergus Garden Centre at Kilcreggan offers an extremely competitive hourly rate, a private health care scheme, generous holiday entitlement and an attractive pension scheme.

The Garden Centre is a part of a larger social enterprise, alongside an Urban Farm and Café. It consists of 2 working poly tunnels, 3 sales poly tunnels and a large sales area, specialising in bedding, hanging baskets, annuals, perennials and garden accessories.

Essential criteria:

- Excellent plant and product knowledge.
- A passion to provide outstanding customer service and sales.
- Have excellent verbal and communication skills.
- Good standard of I.T skills

Desirable criteria:

- City and Guilds Certificate in Horticulture
- City and Guilds Diploma in Horticulture
- Have a knowledge of using social media platforms for seasonal promotions and advertising.
- Experience in growing large quantities of plug plants in heated Poly tunnels.
- Minimum level 2 relevant qualification
- Experience of working in a garden centre or related Horticultural field

You should have a passion for horticulture and be able to maintain stock levels according to seasonal demands. You will be expected to assist customers and advise them about plant choice and care, take in deliveries and maintaining all plants to a high standard. Ability to creatively display stock and plant seasonal planters and hanging baskets. You will be responsible for operating a till and checkout. Evening and weekend working required

**Salary**: From £13.01 per hour
