**About the Job**: I am seeking a personal assistant/support worker to support me to with some domestic tasks, and to re-engage with the community and pursue my hobbies and interests. Tasks will include light domestic duties and assisting me to make telephone calls. I also require transporting and accompanying to activities I enjoy, such as bargain hunting in the shops, visiting cafes, and trips to the theatre and cinema. You will be required to encourage and motivate me to extend my social network and engage with others. You will need to transport me to these activities, so access to a car with appropriate business insurance cover and full clean driving licence is required. I have also recently begun to use an electric wheelchair, so I would like to build my confidence around using this, to eventually enable me to access public transport whilst using the wheelchair. 6 hours per week, times/days to be discussed at interview but flexibility is required and at times, these hours will be accumulated to allow for a full day out. Rate of pay £12.50 per hour.

**Responsible to**: You will be directly responsible to your employer.

**Task and duties, to include any or all of the following**:
You will be required to transport the lady to her activities, so access to a car with appropriate business insurance cover and full clean driving licence is required.

Support the lady to re-engage with the community and pursue her hobbies and interests. She enjoys going out and meeting people, visiting cafes, looking around the shops and bargain hunting and visiting the theatre and cinema.

Encouragement and motivation to extend her social network.

The lady has begun to use a powered wheelchair and would like assistance and encouragement to use this outside her home, building the skills and developing the confidence to use buses and trains, and travel to new places.

Support the lady to do a large shopping trip once per month.

Support with domestic tasks and making phone calls.

At times, the lady would like to accumulate the hours and use these for a full day out somewhere.

Any other duties not mentioned but that fall within the scope of this role should be discussed and then mutually agreed.

Undertake any further training, as mutually agreed.

**Personal Specification**:
Establish a professional standard of care which should be maintained at all times.

Respect and safeguard the goods and property of the lady at all times.

Respect the privacy of the family and uphold confidentiality at all times.

Be trustworthy and kind.

Be punctual, reliable and have some degree of flexibility, with a view to possibly undertaking overtime/banked hours.

Be enthusiastic, encouraging and open to new experiences.

Bear in mind that the role is one of empowerment for the lady.
