As an apprentice rack wirer you will be undertaking public address and voice alarm (PA/VA) communication systems build functions as assigned within the projects department.

**Vacancy Description**:
Build of systems and products within the calculated times to ASL standards.
- Completing systems and products with mínimal errors.
- Correct completion of all relevant product records.
- Checking availability of parts for product build.
- Liaising with Purchasing and Inventory manager for consumable goods.
- Identifying errors in production notes and drawings.
- Any other responsibilities as issued by line manager.

**Training to be provided**:
Engineering Fitter L3 Apprenticeship Standard - This will include on-site training at ASL Zenitel and day release attendance at college delivered by SIGTA in Eastbourne.

On completion of the apprenticeship, you will have achieved the following qualifications;
- Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Knowledge)
- Level 2 Mechanical Manufacturing Engineering NVQ
- Level 3 Electrical/Electronic Engineering NVQ

The final apprenticeship completion certificate will be issued on achievement of the above qualification and successful completion of end point assessment.

**Desired skills**:

- Experience of computer usage
- Some experience of reading schematic drawings is desirable
- Good dexterity/practical hand skills
- Ability to switch between projects when required.
- Ability to work under pressure & meet deadlines.

**Personal qualities**:

- Manage own work effectively with mínimal supervision.
- Work as part of the team and communicate well with all areas of the Company
- Have attention to details.
- Be able to deal with change and be prepared to help other areas of the business as and when needed.
- Be punctual, polite and motivated to achieve goals.
- Interest in electronics or audio.

**Desired qualifications**:
5 x GCSE at Grade C (4/5) and above including Maths & English. Science & ICT an advantage.

**Working week**:
Hours 08.00-16.45 M-Thu / 08.00 - 12.30 F

£15,000 per annum

**Future Prospects**:
To become a fully trained and qualified rack wirer with Application Solutions (Safety and Security) Limited

**Things to consider**:
Like all apprenticeships, this requires a long-term commitment - there will be assignments and log book entries to complete as well as homework. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a top company, whilst you work towards Nationally recognised qualifications.
