Warehouse Supervisor

Premier Placement Services are looking to recruit a Warehouse Supervisor to work for our well-established client based in Tunstall, Stoke-On-Trent. Our client is an independent publisher distributing books across the country, as well as award-winning toys. They take pride in their work and are looking for a hard-working individual to join and support the team.

Salary £28k - £30k per year DOE

Permanent contract

The responsibilities for the role:

- Prioritising orders awaiting dispatch regarding delivery windows, value, and stock.
- Overseeing cancellations.
- Authorising customer orders.
- Assisting in regular stock takes and oversee all stock levels including all materials and requesting stock when required to keep up with supply.
- Provide assistance in planning and providing training.
- Assessing staff performance and reporting to the line manager with reports and feedback.
- Corroborate management to meet KPIs in the operational and financial performance of the business.
- Ensuring all damages, missing stock, mis-deliveries and oversupply are reported with sharing records and paperwork.
- Using your own initiative to improve methods to optimise storage and warehouse capacity.
- Supervise all goods-out processes and examine shipments for compliance.
- Reporting issues with operations to the line manager.
- Contacting couriers to warrant timely collections of varying volumes.
- When required, you must follow all processes to open-up and lock-up the warehouse to ensure the safety and security of the business.
- Supporting Health & Safety compliance and inputting to the Health and Safety Committee.
- You may be asked to carry out other tasks by the Management Team.

For this role we are looking for a team player with great communication skills. Having a high-energy and positive attitude is an essential for this role. You must have relevant experience including order picking/ packing and using a handheld scanner in a warehouse environment.

Qualifications/ Skills
- Computer literate. (Essential)
- Intermediate level skills with Excel including VLOOKUP. (Essential)
- Excellent attention to detail and concentration. (Essential)
- Confident with technology and willingness to learn new systems and devices quickly. (Essential)
- Operating a pallet truck to move pallets around safely. (Desirable)
- Health and Safety training at supervisor level. (Desirable)
- A clean driving license. (Desirable)
